Substance Use and Mental Health Treatment in Denver, Colorado
Mile High Recovery Center treats substance use disorders and the mental health conditions that so often come with them, at the same time, with the same team. Alcohol, fentanyl and other opioids, meth, cocaine, benzodiazepines and prescription drugs on one side; anxiety, depression, PTSD, bipolar disorder and ADHD on the other. About half of our clients need both.

Substance Use Disorders We Treat
Most of the people who come to us are dealing with alcohol, fentanyl, meth, cocaine or benzodiazepines, so those programs are the most developed. Whatever the substance, treatment runs through the same continuum. Detox coordination if you need it, then residential, PHP and IOP. Medication-assisted treatment where it helps. Alumni support that does not end. All substance use treatment

Mental Health Conditions We Treat
Every client gets a psychiatric assessment at admission. If there is a mental health condition under or alongside the substance use, we treat it in the same program with the same clinicians. Medication management is part of that when it makes clinical sense. All mental health treatment
Not sure what you are dealing with is addiction, or whether it is the depression talking? Call anyway. That conversation is what we are here for.
Dual Diagnosis Treatment in Colorado: Why We Treat Both at Once
A lot of substance use is self-medication. Anxiety a drink quiets. Depression that meth lifts for a day and then deepens. Trauma that only sleeps when you do. If treatment addresses the drinking and sends you home with the untreated anxiety, the anxiety will find its own solution again. That is why our dual diagnosis treatment in Colorado is not a separate track; it is how every program at Mile High works.
How Treatment Works at Mile High, Whatever You Are Treating
The continuum is the same for every condition. Detox coordination comes first if withdrawal needs medical supervision. Residential covers the first 30 days or more. PHP and IOP follow with the same team, with medication-assisted treatment where it helps and sober living if you need a safe place to live. The alumni program has no end date. Therapy draws from CBT, DBT, EMDR and the rest of our therapy menu. Your plan changes as you do.
Insurance for Substance Use and Mental Health Treatment
Both are covered by most commercial plans when medically necessary and by Colorado Medicaid. Admissions verifies benefits the same day and most clients start within 24 hours.
Call and we will tell you what we can treat, what it costs, and when you can start.

Congress Park, Denver
Our Denver Treatment Center
Our treatment center is at 1633 Fillmore Street in Denver’s Congress Park neighborhood, a few minutes from downtown and under an hour from the foothills. The residential program has 12 beds, so you will know everyone on your clinical team by the end of the first week. Group rooms, a shared kitchen and outdoor space are part of daily life, and our nine sober living homes across Denver give clients a place to live during and after outpatient care.
Since 2016
Who We Are
Mile High Recovery Center began in 2016 when Brice Hancock opened one sober house in Denver. Today there are nine homes and a treatment center accredited by The Joint Commission and certified by LegitScript. A lot of our staff are in recovery themselves, which is why nobody here is going to judge you, and why hundreds of alumni still show up to groups every week.
