What Is Outpatient Rehab?

Outpatient rehab programs help clients through daily struggles of detox and recovery while clients continue to sleep at home. Most programs require clients to visit the clinic four or five hours a day for medical and psychiatric support. This style of rehab helps people recover without leaving home. Intensive outpatient programs can help clients develop new routines and healthy habits while maintaining sobriety. For many people, outpatient programs suit their busy lifestyles. For others, intensive outpatient programs help them transition from inpatient care back to home life.

At Mile High Recovery Center, we offer both a partial hospitalization program (PHP) and intensive outpatient programs (IOP). Partial hospitalization provides clients with maximum detox support in a safe, inclusive environment. Clients in our PHP program meet Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-3:00 PM.

Our intensive outpatient program gives clients an added level of flexibility. This is great for people returning to work or rebuilding their relationships at home. This program offers our highest level of flexibility with 5 group options each week. Clients can seek treatment, support, and solidarity on their own time Monday-Friday 9:00 AM-12:00 PM as well as Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings.

Is IOP Right for Me?

Outpatient rehab is most successful for those who are ready for a level of independence in their addiction recovery. Signs outpatient rehab might be right for you include:

  • You already live in a safe and supportive home environment.
  • You have employment or are actively seeking work.
  • You’ve maintained sobriety from inpatient treatment and want extra care.
  • You are comfortable managing a schedule on your own.
  • You want addiction treatment support and solidarity in your community.
  • You do not need medically-supervised detox.
  • You are not a risk to yourself or those around you.

For many people in recovery, outpatient rehab programs offer balance. With rigorous therapy sessions, support groups, and sobriety planning, clients in outpatient rehab take tools they learn in rehab out into their daily lives. Outpatient rehab also offers support through alumni programs and daily check-ins to help people manage day-to-day stress, trauma triggers, and major life events that could lead to relapse. IOPs are highly individualized programs to serve clients’ needs, whether they’re struggling with drugs, alcohol, or dual diagnoses.
